No miniature painting recently as last weekend was spent reenacting in the woods near Statesville.

It was the 7th annual Allisons Wood reenactment weekend.

7 YW campaign 2008

SEPTEMBER IN SILESIA

At the end of August "The little Prussian". Decided on a quick strike against his
South western enemy. The Saxons.

Mobilising a large brigade he sent Bge. Gen. (The Irish) O'Sullivan off in the direction of Dresden.

O'Sullivans command on the south side of the ELBE river.

On hearing this. August III of Saxony. Immediately gathered together a force and headed to meet the Prussians:

August III decides to halt the Prussians here.

Just outside of the small village of something or other. The Saxon army prpare for the battle that is sure to be on them by morn.

The day drags on with no sign of the enemy. So around four o'clock in the afternoon. The Saxon Currassiers decide to go for a jog towards the Kresfelt mountain off the left flank of the armies line of battle.

Franco Prussian Bavarians update

Up to two 16 figure (800 men battalions) now. Not bad for three days painting. Is it?
Thinking about French & Prussians. Looked at Pendraken and MM figures. Like to try and use different or a mixture of different figures for my armies.

Have also been busy with a small 7 YW Bavarian currassier unit 6 Figure (300 man) 15mm. See them in front of a scratch built windmill below:

My newest project: Samurai in 10mm

For some while now. I have been wargaming with a computer aided miniature gaming system; Computer Strategies, "Great Powers".

This is a system that is purported to cover the period from 1820 through to 1900. In the European theatre of conflict.

It is a fully intergrated system for this time frame in history. With the ability to game land and or naval at any time.

Also included within its system is a campaign and solo gaming modules.

Although I mentioned above that the system was originally developed for the European conflicts between 1820 & 1900.

With friends, we have very successfully used it to game the Mexican-American war, Russo- Japanese naval war of 1904-05 and one of my favorite periods; The 7 Years War. with minor in house changes.

Onto my newest project: Feudal Japan. The reign of the Samurai in a scale of 10mm.

The majority of the figures used are Pendraken miniatures with a few minifigs thrown in for good measure
